What perspective do young people have on being online? Where do they see the biggest danger in it and where do they experience false promises? Two short films made during “ABC WORKING WITH THE CAMERA” during 18th edition of the KAMERALNE LATO festival in Radom provide answers to these questions.

When the youth in Radom picked up cameras, two short film stories happened. Maybe it’s not a big thing but they hit home! They show how the internet works nowadays.

The Office Radom

In Radom, there stands an office like any other. Nobody here bothers with suits or handbooks, and onboarding is handled by a dog named Stefan. It seems like a perfectly normal day, full of laughter and routine. But the longer you look, the harder it is to escape the feeling that something is off. Is this really just another day at the office…?

Produced under the artistic supervision of Kuba Bastkowski, this film is a subtle metaphor for how easily digital entertainment can overshadow our real, present lives.

Gołąbeczek (Little Pigeon)

A lonely boy meets someone online who quickly becomes someone special to him. Their conversations blossom into feelings, and trust grows day by day. But what seemed like the start of a beautiful story… turns out to be a painful illusion.

Under the supervision of Konrad Miklaszewski, young creators touched one of the biggest issues of our times  – false online identities. Gołąbeczek is a story about how easy it is to be deceived by false promises when the longing for intimacy outweighs common sense.

Both short films leave no room for doubt: young people perfectly understand that the internet is a space with two faces. It’s a place for relationships, fun, and an escape from loneliness but also a source of addiction and a trap in which one can become painfully lost.
