TOGETHER – ToGetThere: seven days, five countries, and three films

How much can be created in just a week? As it turns out—quite a lot. Especially when a group of young people from five different countries come together, supported by the guidance of experienced mentors. Within only seven days, as part of the international project TOGETHER – ToGetThere, three short films were produced. Each different in tone and style, yet together they form one experience—a shared story about today’s world and its challenges.

The Monolith

After a tragic accident, Stephen—paralyzed and tormented by guilt—comes across an advertisement for a mysterious Monolith: a place where one can offer oneself as a sacrifice… in exchange for money.

Created under the guidance of Marek Pawlikowski, the film is a poignant reflection on the limits of sacrifice and the price a person is willing to pay in the search for meaning.

But(t)

In a ruined world of the future, a young man stumbles upon a forgotten document from the year 2025. The flickering screen brings back to life an era when sexism, racism, and homophobia were part of everyday reality… and every “but” opened the door to hatred.

The film, created under the guidance of Karim Kourani, is a powerful reminder that the past never truly disappears—it leaves its traces within us.

Too Sweet to Quit

What do a beauty queen, a loyal friend, a ruthless food critic, an overworked businessman, and a woman in love have in common? The answer is simple—sugar. Each of them ends up in an ambulance, becoming a victim of their own choices and sweet temptations. Too Sweet to Quit is an abstract dark comedy that explores sugar addiction in a twisted, surreal way.

The film, created under the guidance of Karolina Węglorz Zima, transforms a contemporary health issue into a grotesque yet witty portrait of human weakness.

International Collaboration

The TOGETHER – ToGetThere project demonstrates the enormous potential of international collaboration among young creators. Working together, sharing experiences, and embracing diverse perspectives allows them to produce works that are not only artistically engaging but also socially meaningful.

The main organizer of the KAMERALNE LATO International Film Meetings is the FILMFORUM Association.

The TOGETHER project is co-financed by the European Union.
