What can a group of young people from 4 different countries create in 7 days with the help of 3 wonderful artistic supervisors? See the answer below.
KAMERALNE LATO has come to an end, including the International Film Workshops “TOGETHER”. Young people from Poland, Germany, Hungary and Italy spent an incredibly creative week together, learning not only the basics of creating audiovisual art, but also group communication, which is crucial at every stage of film production.
Child-parent relations, sensitivity towards oneself, dealing with everyday hardships – these are the topics the participants decided to address during the July workshops. Due to the international scope of the project, they could discuss each issue in a way that transcended their national points of view. This gave their public service announcements a truly multicultural, open and universal character.
The resulting final films are presented below.
The #KarimKouraniTeam production COMMUNICATE is a very mature manifesto aimed primarily at parents. In the short PSA, the young people confront reality and appearances in an incredibly blunt way to show what is truly important in raising children.
Created by Piotr Dylewski’s group, THE RUN is, as the members themselves say, the Polish version of INCEPTION. The film within a film within another film initially explores everyday problems, only to turn into something probably none of you could expect.
Ania Morawiec supervised an incredibly professional PSA, IT’S NOT A RACE. At first glance, it is nigh impossible to see that it was made by amateur filmmakers who are just learning their craft. But it was! This beautiful announcement reflects the thoughts and needs of contemporary young people who are trying to get rid of stereotypes and free themselves from the fear of others’ opinions.
The main organiser of the International Film Meetings KAMERALNE LATO is the FILMFORUM Association.
The TOGETHER project is co-funded by the European Union.
The educational partners are: Offener Kanal Magdeburg (Germany), Budapest Cultural Center (Hungary) and Associazione Cinematografica e Culturale LABORATORIO DEI SOGNI (Italy).
